Checklist to Becoming a UNO Student

Follow these steps to complete the admission process and be eligible to register for UNO classes:

Apply for admission
Submit Application for Admission (online or download)
Pay $45 application fee
Request official college transcripts (if any) be sent to UNO
If not a Nebraska resident, apply for Residency for Tuition Purposes
Complete FAFSA and/or scholarship applications (if desired)
Submit proof of 2 MMR immunizations or rubeola titer
Attend Student Orientation (active duty students may request waiver)
Meet with an Advisor
Take the English & Math placement exams (if needed)

Student PIN

As part of the admission application, each prospective student is asked to choose a six-digit number to serve as their student PIN. The university will send a confirmation of the PIN as part of your acceptance packet. It is very important that students memorize their PIN since it is the key to accessing registration, online material for classes, grades, the student e-mail account, and transcripts. If you forget your PIN, you must go in person (with a photo ID) to the Registrar's Office in the Eppley Administration Building on the UNO main campus.

Metropolitan Community College Transfer Students

UNO has special arrangements with Metropolitan Community college (MCC) to ease the transfer process between the two schools. If you are a graduate of or have ever attended MCC, please click here to find important information.
